Final

Planning

Prototyping

The result of a vinegar and dye mix after put in water.
An experiment to see if dye and vinegar would mix together or keep separate.
An attempt to make a liquid colour lens by melting the edges of plastic containing the liquid into the lens shape.
The effect of a dye and oil mix after being put in water.
An experiment to see if dye would mix with oil.

I started experimenting with what I could use to create my liquid color goggles and found that it was very difficult to keep the dye separate from the liquid it was immersed in. It was also difficult to use create lenses.

Brainstorming

After having touched and played with interactive objects and having filled out the morphologic grid I brainstormed ideas of my own. I posed questions to myself such as what do I want it to feel like? What do I want it to sound like? How big it should it be?

Morphologic

At the studio on Friday we played with toys of an interactive nature. We had to fill out a series of boxes which helps us to group together these interactive objects with the aim that it will help us decide what we want to accomplish with out own objects.

Senses

In studio the week just been we played with objects and in my case toys which played strongly to our senses. I realized that for me the toys/objects that I found most interesting were those that you could here and needed to touch to activate. Most did something when activated that was extremely visually exciting to watch, for example I had a trigger activated red LED light torch. When the trigger is pulled the motor revs making a large noise and turns on the light. I decided that for my project I wanted to create an object that was fun to watch once activated but also made a noise so that you could here that the object was activated. I think these interactive objects were the most fun and that is an aim, to make a fun object.
